Instructions
:new:Now that the memberlist is completely up-to-date and inactive members have been weeded out, it's time to open up member profile submissions. Before submitting yours, please read the instructions below.

To have your member profile included, please make sure your name is on our memberlist. If it is not, please first follow our regular joining instructions, then send your member profile in a separate note with "Member Profile" in the subject line.

Your profile can include any of the following: How long you have been a writer, what do you hope to get out of being a member of ProsePlease, what type of prose you write/read, and what you want your future in writing to be. Non-lit related details are unnecessary and may be edited out for length.

Here are some rules/guidelines for writing your member profile:

1) It must be written in the third-person ("he" or "she" instead of "I").
2) It should not exceed 100 words.
3) Be vague with numbers, such as your age, so that you won't have to update your profile later (ie. teenager instead of fifteen-years-old).
4) You can include links to up to three of your own deviations, whatever ones you'd like to publicize (preferably prose, but not necessarily). Please try to format the links using this template: < a href="http://LINK">TITLE</a > (without the first and last spaces).
5) Please proofread and edit your profile before you send it.

If you still aren't sure, use the example(s) below as a template.

Member Profiles

:iconagmeade: =AGMeade is an aspiring novelist and devoted deviant. She has been a member of deviantART since 2005, though she only recently became involved in the literature community. Her first love was fantasy, though she now enjoys a wide spectrum of literature. She writes slice-of-life short fiction and more ambitious novel length works which are not posted online. Some examples of her work include See You Later, A Love Story, and The Gallery: Take 3.

:iconannoyingrooster: ~AnnoyingRooster is a lazy bum. She's so lazy that after finishing a piece, she normally doesn't edit it, unless it's absolutely necessary. Her prefered genres to write in are thriller/action and sad/romance. After writing for about five years, she's been forced to take a break because of homework, but plans on changing that, or attempting to. The one thing about her writing, though, is that she doesn't like to post most of it on dA. A few examples of her work here on dA are: Curiosity Killed the Lie, Just Another News Story, and Angel.

:iconatrue: `ATrue has been the General Administrator for ProsePlease only a short time, but she has been a member for a while now. As an active member of dA since 2005, she participates heavily in the literature community. While she reads mostly classics, she is working on a fantasy novel, and often writes creative nonfiction. `ATrue is not yet published, but hopes to be in the future, and is working on her BA in English. Check out 10 Tips for Novel Writers, Contemplations Over Porcelain, and The End of the World.

:iconbrendonrobey911: ~BrendonRobey911 enjoys writing stories but has a problem with actually finishing a story. He is currently writing a story and is hoping to create a short novel out of it. He likes to get inspiration from artwork and other literature on deviantart. He enjoys complimenting art and having others read his work, especially his short story, Orion. The story begins here: Prologue.

:iconjvarriano: =JVarriano joined DeviantArt on December 31st of 2007. She began writing creatively on her own as early as twelve years old. Her main focusses currently are fiction short stories, memoir short story collections, and poetry. She has received several literary honors, including awards for excellence in poetry and essay writing. She has been published five times in small local publications. She has yet to submit any literary works to DeviantArt.

:iconladykylin: ~LadyKylin has been an on and off writers since part way through grade school as well as an avid reader. As far as writing goes, she has focused on the the genre of fantasy or sci-fi, she has dabbled in other genre's as well as being an active rper. However due to struggles with being dyslectic is always in a constant look for other to take the roll of editing. For a look at a few my better pieces, see Prisoner, the first chapter of one of my stories, and A funeral, a bit of a strange piece. I would love to hear from people what they think!

:iconladylouve: ~LadyLouve writes. She has been writing for quite a while, exploring a little bit of all genres and techniques. Nowadays, she prefers perspectival writing, statements of surrealism and neo-tragic essays, not to mention children stories. Her ambitions include the ability of sharing her views through works like Girl Friends, I Kiss the Wolf or The Roaster.

:iconlolgirl607: :iconlolgirl607: loves to write short pieces of work. She can never finish a long story for she gets too lazy and her motivation runs out too quickly, which explains the numerous unfinished ideas floating in her documents. She likes to write poetry more, since they're short, but she has written a short story recently. She hopes to post some stories onto dA, but hasn't done so yet (there are some poems though). "Soon", she vows every day, "soon". Too bad she's a terrible procrastinator.

:iconmari-xx: =Mari-xx has been writing for around four years. She transitioned from stories to poetry and finally to short pieces of prose. Being a teenager, she gets a lot of her inspiration from her ever-changing feelings. She has other muses, such as music, nature and things surrounding her. In terms of reading, she’ll let her eyes wander over almost anything. She is currently working on an original full-length novel. She hopes Prose Please will give her inspiration to start writing more. If you wouldn't mind, please take a look at: Crazy, Graveyard Muse, and It Was There.

:iconmeganwayxo: ~meganwayxo has been writing for several years. She mainly reads fan fiction and she submits most of her stories to the fan fiction or life stories categories. As a member of ProsePlease, she hopes to grow as a writer. In the future, she hopes to become an author.

:iconmemoirs-of-yesterday: ~memoirs-of-yesterday is in her twenties and an active poet and an experimental writer with prose and short stories. She finds inspiration from the experiences of her own and those who are around her. In high school when she had finished all her English classes before her last year she took writers craft which helped her enhance the structure and vocabulary used in her writing. As she is an artist that enjoys dabbling in everything, she recently in the last few years started doing photography and has been trying her hand in acrylic paints and charcoal. Some of her favorite pieces of writing are: Following the White Rabbit, Choose, and Nightmare Of Nightmares.

:iconmiss-s-bird: *Miss-S-Bird has been writing casually as a hobby for most of her short life, beginning to take it more seriously in her late teens. She has had a few short stories published. She has a BA in English Literature, and is currently working towards honours. She also hopes to continue study to gain an MLitt in Renaissance Studies. Outside of her studies, she runs the University's Writers' Society, and also works as a Prose Admin and contest judge for =DailyLitDeviations. For examples of her writing, try Reach, The Death of a Flower or A Fatherly Moment.

:iconmizuyo: ~mizuyo has enjoyed reading since she could read and picked up writing soon after she could write. She hopes to get feedback and give feedback to fellow members to help herself and others become better writers and to be inspired to think outside of the box in writing to expand her potential. She wants to continue writing for the rest of her life, and if she manages to write anything worthwhile then perhaps she'll have it published. She enjoys all kinds of prose, though nonfiction essays and fantasy are her favorite. Feel free to check out her work Princess Lioness.

:iconmode-de-vie: =mode-de-vie =mode-de-vie has been writing seriously for 8 years. She is currently studying at university as an English major and a Fine Arts minor. She hopes to work in the editing/publishing field and write a novel. She is also one of the Contest Administrators of ProsePlease.

:iconnamine-fatale: =Namine-Fatale is a fish. But besides that, she is also a writer that enjoys writing a variety of stories. She explores various subjects, from action-packed fantasy, to Christian-related works of praise, to dreamy historical fictions, and random poetry here and there. Some of her creations are deeply socio-political while others are just random. Namine-Fatale likes to play water polo and drink Boba.

:iconpaperdart: =PaperDart is in her late teens. She has been actively working on improving her writing skills for several years. She particularly enjoys reading and attempts to write out-of-the-ordinary fiction and insightful nonfiction. =PaperDart is also interested in the art of writing critique with literary merit, as an aid to both artist and art appreciator.

:iconravenofroses: *ravenofroses writes an awful lot. She thinks of herself as a fairly good writer, but is growing alarmed at just how much of her writing seems to include mentally unstable characters. She inevitably writes about vampires and/or telepaths, and she reads near everything so long as it has an unsettling or unusual bent. Typical of her work are Sasha, Drudgery, and Sparrow’s Poem.

:iconrlkirkland: =rlkirkland, an avid reader from his youth, began writing in the “Armed Forces Writers League” in 1967 writing poetry, short stories and humor articles (one published by Readers Digest). After a very long hiatus he began to write again in the summer of 2009. While the majority of his work concentrates on poetry, he enjoys writing essays on the human condition and hopes to expand his skill in this club. Examples of his essays include: Torn Fabric and Relational Habits & Hang-ups. Here also is a sample of his narrative poetry: One Night Better Forgotten.

:iconrockonellenpage: ~RockOnEllenPage is both a teen poet and prose writer, writing from as early as 7th grade. Since then, she has developed her own unique style for poetry and prose, as well as unique subject matter since she is bisexual. Occasionally sharing some of her compositions, she is also a growing musician and vocalist. Her prose often contains fictionalized summaries of her real-life relationships, or fantasy fan fictions.

:iconshadowsshade: =ShadowsShade has been writing for almost four years, but has been reading long before that. She is a teenager, and gets most of her inspiration from things she sees outside or certain animes and TV shows she watches. When she first started writing, all she wrote were fan fictions, with her first, completed story, Calling of the Spirits, winning third place in the epic fan fiction contest. Sine then, her writing as matured, and she hopes to have her book Chasing the Storm published by the end of 2010. The only novel exerpts she has posted on DeviantArt so far (besides fan fictions) are first chapters and prologues for some of her future projects, including: Project N.O.V.A and Chasing the Sun.

:icontheanimebutterfly: =TheAnimeButterfly, or Kitten, has been a writer for seven years, posting her works on deviantart for two of those. She prefers fictional prose and mostly writes and reads in the fantasy, romance, or sci-fi genres. She has the ambition of being a famous author, publishing books that can be seen around the world.

:iconthespes: ~thespes dabbles in both prose and poetry, and loves both mediums equally. She is an avid reader. Finding the Theatre should tell you much more about her than a bio, while Untitled is one of her favorites, and The Reforming needs a lot of work.

:iconthis-silent-scream: ~this-silent-scream is something of a fanatic when it comes to her writing. She considers herself a self-styled expert on all things fantasy. Her preferred genre is fantasy and perspectives. While her gallery is mostly short vignettes she has completed two books and has plans to release them on Amazon as e-books come January. Pieces to read are Pink, Lucid, and Hot Sauce and Pepper.

:iconyatsu: ~yatsu has been a writer for as long as she's been able to put paper to pencil, and a reader for just about as long. 'Always speculative never normal' seems to be her credo, and hopes one day to graduate to paid publishing. Work she is least embarrassed by includes The Brick, Joachim, delta revision and perhaps seki-ray.
