Volunteer Opportunities

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 7, 2009, 7:44 AM

New Staff Members!

Please join us in welcoming =rlkirkland and *Friedemann as our new Nonfiction Nook admins! Ron and Lam are both very enthusiastic about making nonfiction a more prominent part of the DeviantArt literature community and will be bringing you many great prompts.

Also, we'd like to welcome ~midnight-eclipses as our new Community Critics Admin! Raye is going to take a bit to get her bearings, but she is eager to get this essential club function back up and running. Unfortunately, the admin she was supposed to be helping is MIA, so Raye still needs help. See below for more about this great opportunity!

Volunteer Opportunities

:bulletpurple: Community Critics: We need someone to back up ~midnight-eclipses at Community Critics. Responsibilities will include selecting submissions, reading critiques, and selecting one to showcase.

:bulletpurple: #LITplease Moderators: We'd like to run regular shares and workshops in the #LITplease chatroom, but in order to do so, we need staff members to help moderate. Even if you only have a couple hours one night a week, that will be enough to run something in that time slot!

How To Apply

If you'd like to apply for any of these positions, please send us a note expressing your interest and briefly outlining your qualifications. Make sure to state which position your are applying for. Some things you could mention include: previous leadership experience, your current involvement on dA, your writing experience, and/or your personal availability that will allow you to devote yourself to the club. "Qualifications" really is a loose term--just tell us whatever you think is relevant!

I don't think my health would let me volunteer to be a chat admin, even though I was good at it in the past. I haven't spent as long in chat rooms as I used to, though I love writing chats. I'll make an effort to drop in once in a while, especially if I can find others in it when I sample it.

And when I do, oh it naturally turns to prose discussions. Of all the types of chats I've enjoyed, writing chats are the best!

pity we're in such different timezones :) writing chats are fun. I should get in this one more often.

Read the news!!
Writer? Introduce yourself, please...
:iconrobertsloan2:
Yeah. I should too. I've just got a tendency not to go into chat rooms if I'm not feeling high energy because it gets stressful if I have trouble keeping up.
